A structural approach for 3D building reconstruction

In this report, we present a 3D building reconstruction method based on a structural approach. It consists in reconstructing buildings by assembling simple urban structures extracted from a grammar of 3D parametric models. This method is composed of two stages. The rst one, which has already been tackled in previous works, consists in extracting the building footprints through con gurations of connected quadrilaterals. The second stage, detailed in this report, corresponds to the 3D reconstruction from DEMs and obtained building footprints. An energy formulation is used within a Bayesian framework which is particularly well adapted to introduce prior knowledge related to urban structures and their assembling. In order to nd the optimal solution of this energy, two di erent optimization techniques are used and compared. Cela consiste à reconstruire des bâtiments en assemblant des structures urbaines simples, extraites d'une grammaire de modèles paramétriques 3D. Cette méthode est composée de deux étapes. La première, qui a déjà été abordée dans des travaux antérieurs, a pour but d'extraire les emprises de bâtiments sous forme de con gurations de quadrilatères connectés entre eux. La seconde étape, détaillée dans ce rapport, consiste à reconstruire en 3D les bâtiments à partir de MNE et des emprises obtenues.Une énergie est dé nie dans un cadre bayésien, particulièrement intéressant pour introduire des connaissances a priori sur les structures urbaines et leurs assemblages. A n de trouver la solution optimale de cette énergie, deux techniques di érentes d'optimisation seront utilisées et comparées.
